VOCA NATIONAL CAPITAL RALLY in the ACT 25-27 September 2026<\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Next National Capital Canberra Velocette Rally will be held 25 to 27 September 2026<\/b><\/p>\r\n

ACCOMMODATION: <\/b><\/span>The Rally will be based at: The Forrest Motel & Apartments,
<\/b>30 National Circuit, Forrest ACT 2003

This is a different motel this year, closer to the centre of Canberra. We have made a group booking at a special price.\u00a0 <\/span>These are motel rooms: however, the motel has apartments which are not included in the group booking. You may book these privately if you prefer.<\/p>\r\n

Should you wish to have a group booked room contact Peter Ellis & you will be added to the guest list. No deposit is required. You will pay for the room when checking in. The Group booked rooms will cost approx. $250 for the two nights<\/b><\/p>\r\n

CATERING<\/b><\/span>: The Forrest Motel will provide a breakfast pack at a small fee. Evening meals will be at Caph Restaurant in Manuka which is a short walk from the Motel. There are several other restaurants & bars in Manuka if you prefer another eatery.<\/b><\/p>\r\n

RIDES<\/b><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

FRIDAY: 1330 Start<\/span>: <\/span>(Total Distance ~50 KM)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

On Friday afternoon there will be a ride to the Sutton Bakery. This is a mostly country ride, ideal for Velos .<\/p>\r\n

SATURDAY: 0930 Start (Total distance ~140 Km)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Ride will be via the Cotter Dam to what ACT locals call the \u2018Cotter Loop\u2019 This is a lovely rural ride, clear of the suburbs.<\/p>\r\n

The ride will take us into the Brindabella Mountains first to Corin Dam.<\/p>\r\n

We will then ride to the Deep Space tracking Station at Tidbinbilla. The interesting visitor centre there is again open as is the caf\u00e9.<\/p>\r\n

We will then ride to the Lanyon Homestead for lunch at their Caf\u00e9. We will then tour the historic house: there is a fee to tour the house<\/i>. Return will be via the same route.<\/p>\r\n

SUNDAY: 0900 Start (Total Distance ~30 Km)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

There will be a morning ride to the Arboretum & its caf\u00e9 then around the Parliamentary triangle ending at the Old Parliament House for early lunch.<\/p>\r\n

MARSHALLING<\/span>: I will recruit some members of the Local Club (VVCMCCACT) to assist in guiding our group, but they will not be stationed on corners.<\/p>\r\n

The \u201cFollow the leader &look for the rider following\u201d<\/i><\/b> method will apply.<\/p>\r\n
